About Blake
Blake Markus practices in several areas of law, focusing on personal injury and insurance disputes, including bad faith insurance law. He has also practiced extensively in business litigation and formation throughout his career, which has proven helpful in pursuing insurance companies and at-fault corporations. Blake will also represent businesses as personal counsel for insurance coverage issues and business-against-business litigation. Blake’s success in complex insurance coverage litigation for injured persons and businesses who were denied coverage by their carriers has led to obtaining tens of millions of dollars for his clients. While it is not possible in every case, it is not unusual for Blake to obtain money for his clients above and beyond the at-fault party’s policy limits of insurance.
Blake formerly lived in downtown Jefferson City but now enjoys the seclusion of unincorporated Callaway County. He is active in service and community organizations. He is a former member of the Jefferson City Planning and Zoning Commission, a member of the Board of Governors of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, a former board member of the Jefferson City Rotaract Club, and a current board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Jefferson City. Blake has lived in Missouri and West Virginia most of his life.
Recognizing the amazing results he has obtained for his clients, Blake received the Missouri Lawyer’s Weekly Up & Coming Lawyer Award in 2014, an award from Missouri Lawyer’s Weekly for the second largest settlement in Missouri in 2017 for a truck collision case, and was recognized as a Missouri Super Lawyer Rising Star every year since 2017.
