About John

John is a genuine, dedicated, and innovative personal injury attorney. He champions and exercises remarkable care for his clients. Whether representing individuals or organizations, John delivers value through excellent customer service and a form of genuine, zealous advocacy that builds trust, respect, and cooperation among all parties.

John has litigated hundreds of cases in courts all over the state of Missouri. He has been instrumental in negotiating and winning six and seven figure results in personal injury and insurance disputes in state and federal court. He has repeated success defending the private and constitutional rights of his clients.

From 2018 to 2020, John’s reputation for hard-work, innovation, and trust-building brought him into service of the Missouri Governor’s Office. As Policy Counsel, he provided advice and direction in a number of complex legislative and executive policy matters. He represented Missouri around the country to many of the nation’s most influential non-profits, think-tanks, and federal agencies. John also led a multi-agency effort that earned tens of millions of dollars for programs serving Missouri’s children and led to the creation of the Missouri Office of Early Childhood.

At Carson & Coil, John continues his career as a litigator and trial lawyer. He serves clients primarily in insurance and personal injury disputes.

John lives in Columbia with his wife, Michelle, and their two children. He serves as president of the Boonslick Kiwanis Club in Columbia and is an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes church. He also manages his family farm, in Marshall, Missouri. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors, especially on the Katy Trail.
